Sleepers:
Ryan Newman: Ryan Newman is finding his stride as a #FantasyNASCAR sleeper as of late. The No. 31 Richard Childress Racing driver sits 10th in fantasy points averaged over his last three races. Given his price, Newman gives a lot of value in place differential. He’s produced positive place differential in six of his last seven races. Newman is also a machine at New Hampshire. In 30 starts there, Newman has three wins, seven top fives, 18 top 10s and 722 laps-led – the most among active drivers.
Clint Bowyer: The resurgence of Clint Bowyer this season has not only been fun to watch, it’s been great for his #FantasyNASCAR stock. In 18 starts this season, Bowyer has four top fives (two in his last three starts), seven top 10s and has finished outside the top-25 only three times. He’s averaging a finishing position on the season of 12.9. Bowyer has produced well at New Hampshire throughout his career. In 22 career starts there, he has two wins, four top fives and seven top 10s, with 516 laps led – the fifth-most among active drivers.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: Given his production this season, we should be considered lucky that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is still in sleeper range. In his 18 starts this season, Stenhouse Jr. has two superspeedway wins, four top fives and seven top 10s. He owns a finish on the season of 15.4 and has led 39 laps. Stenhouse Jr. sits 22nd in fantasy points averaged over his last three races. In eight career starts at New Hampshire, Stenhouse Jr. has only finished outside the top-25 twice. He finished 10th in this race last season.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.: While some owners may think Dale Earnhardt Jr. has little value at any tracks besides superspeedways, we suggest he is worth a sleeper play this weekend at New Hampshire. Dale Jr. has 33 starts at New Hampshire and has eight top fives and 15 top 10s. He owns an average finish there of 15.3. Even though he didn’t race there in 2016 due to injury, in 2016, Dale Jr. ran 92.2 percent of his laps at New Hampshire in 2015. Dale Jr. has four top 10s in his last five races at New Hampshire, and 12-consecutive top 25’s there
Value Plays:
Paul Menard: The value on Paul Menard is absolutely there for the taking right now across most leagues given his asking price. Menard has eight top 25’s in last 10 races and is averaging a finish this season of 20.1. He currently sits ninth in fantasy points averaged over his last three races. Menard is solid at New Hampshire, which makes him even more appealing. He has 12-consecutive top-25 finishes, and since 2015, Menard has an average finish at New Hampshire of 20.8.
AJ Allmendinger: Allmendinger has been a bit of an up-and-down ride this season, but consistently is making a solid case for a value play each week. He owns an average finish on the season of 21.6, with an average place differential of +1.8. #FantasyNASCAR owners would be wise to take a closer look at his New Hampshire numbers as he hasn’t finished outside the top-25 there since 2009. He’s had positive place differential is five of his last seven races there. Since 2015, Dinger has raced 20.3 percent of his laps in the top 15.
Chris Buescher: Chris Buescher is making a strong case for himself as value play of the season. He has been a perfect starter in this range as he owns an average finish of 22.1, with an average place differential of +5.1. Buescher has nine top-25 finishes in his last 10 races this season. He currently sits 14th in fantasy points averaged over the last three races. In two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at New Hampshire, Buescher has underperformed, but in this race last season, he had a place differential of +6.
Michael McDowell: Michael McDowell. McDowell has been a #FantasyNASCAR value play star over his last few races. He currently sits 11th in fantasy points averaged over his last three races. In that span, he has finishes of 23rd (Kentucky), fourth (Daytona) and 14th (Sonoma). McDowell hasn’t finished outside the top-25 since Talladega. Though he’s had some bad luck at New Hampshire, McDowell makes a strong value play this week.
